New artist: Introducing DJ Brandon

There are some artists in Kuwait who are all over the place in terms of visibility but aren’t quite as substantial when it comes to their music. Then there are others who quietly work in the background but let their skills do the talking. DJ Brandon is such an artist.

Inspired by his family & his passion for music, Brandon Baines started mixing beats at the age of 16 during his high school years, in the enchanting city of Colombo, Sri Lanka. It was not until he moved to the Gulf to make a living that his passion for tunes and beat was nurtured and encouraged with exposure to the growing music industry.

In his early twentys he got his first break at Harvard Johnson Hotel (Abu Dhabi) spinning as a resident DJ. This marked the beginning of an exciting journey into “DJ-hood” and opened doors to several stimulating opportunities including:

• Crowne Plaza (Abu Dhabi , UAE)

• Abu Dhabi Grand Hotel, now run by Le Royal Meridian (Abu Dhabi , UAE)

• Hilton (Abu Dhabi , UAE)

• Zoe’s Fine Dining Restaurant, (Bahrain)

• Al-Ain Rotana (Al Ain, UAE)

• 7 Bars Restaurant & Café, (Kuwait)

• Various private swish events, parties and functions at Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and Kuwait.

He has come a long way and has worked with the likes of featured prominent DJs such as – DJ X &, DJ 7 (Marina FM – Kuwait), DJ Gilbert (Kuwait), DJ Richard (Kuwait), DJ Conrad (USA), DJ Ali (Dubai), DJ Ian (UK), DJ Yousef (Morocco) & Music Masters (Kuwait). By nature D.J Brandy is a serene, cheerful person and soft spoken – but crank up the music and everything changes.

With talent, experience and an accustomed soulfulness, Brandon Baines, a.k.a D.J Brandy, has skilled himself with multifaceted genres of music, some even varied in their cultural diversity. Be it house, tribal, pop, RnB, hip-hop, classics, country, easy listening, etc… or even in a symphony of languages, his passion absorbs him to spin tantalizing tunes that would make you tap your feet and dance the night away.
